The Tennessee Leadership Training Institute (TLTI) provides leadership training for SkillsUSA Tennessee Postsecondary student leaders. Students connect with members from across the state, strengthen their leadership skills, discuss the student experience, and learn how to lead more effectively in their local chapters, colleges, and future careers.

What is TLTI?

TLTI is Tennessee’s state-level leadership training experience designed to help student leaders grow in confidence, communication, professionalism, teamwork, and career readiness. The event supports chapter leadership, state officer development, and the broader SkillsUSA Framework.

What Students Will Experience

  • Leadership development and team-building activities

  • Networking with student leaders from across Tennessee

  • Resume and interview preparation
  • State officer candidate preparation and election activities

Statesperson Award

Attendees will have the opportunity to earn the Statesperson Award during TLTI. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate leadership skills and complete additional leadership training requirements. Further information and supplemental assignments will be provided after event registration.

Market Yourself for Career Success

Students may participate in a pre-institute workforce workshop focused on resume development, identifying strengths, interview skills, and career readiness. There is no additional cost to attend this workshop.

Students are encouraged to bring a working resume so they can participate fully in resume review and interview preparation activities.
