Career Essentials Curriculum Options

A Learning Continuum for Every Stage

Career Essentials includes four curriculum options based on learner age and experience. Tennessee College/Postsecondary students will most often use the Advanced or Adult Learner options.

Ages 12-14

Exploratory

Introduces younger learners to career exploration, workplace expectations, and foundational employability skills.

Ages 14-16

Fundamental

Builds basic career-readiness skills as students begin considering education, training, and future employment.

Ages 17-19

Advanced

Provides deeper preparation for real-world careers, workplace performance, and successful transitions beyond high school.

Ages 20+

Adult Learner

Supports adult students who are preparing to enter, re-enter, or advance in the workforce.

Use as a stand-alone career-readiness course. Integrate modules into an existing technical course. Deliver instruction in person, online, or through a hybrid model.
