Leadership, Advocacy, and Civic Engagement
SkillsUSA Day on the Hill
SkillsUSA Day on the Hill gives Tennessee College/Postsecondary students the opportunity to engage directly with state government, advocate for career and technical education, and represent the voices of students preparing for Tennessee's workforce.
About Day on the Hill
Student Voice at the State Capitol
Held each spring in partnership with the Tennessee Board of Regents Student Government Presidents Council, Day on the Hill is one of the premier leadership and advocacy experiences available to Tennessee College/Postsecondary members.
Participants travel to Nashville to meet with state legislators, observe the legislative process, discuss the impact of career and technical education, and share how SkillsUSA and technical education prepare students for Tennessee's workforce and economy.
More Than a Field Trip
A Leadership Development Experience
Students strengthen communication, professionalism, teamwork, public speaking, and advocacy while representing their institutions and communities at the state level.
