About SLSC
Tennessee's Premier Career and Technical Education Event
Each spring, more than 3,000 students, advisors, educators, business and industry partners, and volunteers gather to celebrate technical skill, student leadership, career readiness, and statewide achievement.
During the SkillsUSA Championships, students demonstrate technical, workplace, and leadership skills in competitions designed and judged by professionals using current industry standards and expectations.

Conference Experience
Four Days of Competition, Leadership, and Recognition
SLSC begins with participant arrival, registration, orientations, and select competition activities. Members then gather for the Opening Ceremony to launch the conference and recognize the strength of Tennessee SkillsUSA.
The majority of competitions take place on Tuesday across a broad range of career pathways, including advanced manufacturing, transportation, information technology, health sciences, construction, hospitality, public safety, engineering technologies, and many others.
Chapters and individuals are recognized through the Chapter of Excellence Banquet, statewide awards, and the Grand Awards Ceremony. State champions may earn the opportunity to represent Tennessee at the National Leadership and Skills Conference.

Technical Standards
The Official Competition Guide
SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards include contest rules, eligibility, clothing requirements, equipment lists, technical skills, and knowledge expectations. Standards are accessed through Pathful.
New Technical Standards are scheduled for release in September 2026.
