Chapter Growth and Development

Managing and Growing Your SkillsUSA Chapter

Build a thriving chapter that develops student leaders, strengthens career readiness, serves your institution, and connects members to the full SkillsUSA experience.

Build With Purpose

Strong Chapters Do Not Happen by Accident

Successful chapters create meaningful opportunities for students to lead, compete, serve, connect, and prepare for the workforce. Advisors provide structure and support, while students take ownership of the chapter experience.

Chapter Essentials

Six Priorities for Chapter Growth

Use these priorities to move from launching a chapter to building a sustainable, student-led organization.

Make Membership Meaningful

Every successful chapter starts with an advisor willing to create opportunity and students willing to lead. SkillsUSA Tennessee College/Postsecondary provides guidance, resources, and statewide connections to help your chapter move forward.

Three Events. One Purpose.

Serve. Support. Succeed.

Put the SkillsUSA Program of Work into action. Each term, chapters complete three student-led events that strengthen their communities, recognize the people who support student success, and raise funds that expand access to conferences, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

This Tennessee chapter model supports the national Program of Work categories of Community Engagement, Partner and Alumni Engagement, and Financial Management. Explore the complete national Program of Work.
