Student-Led Planning

Develop a Successful Program of Work

SkillsUSA's Program of Work is the road map for planning and implementing an annual calendar of chapter activities. Organize students into committees for the six national categories so they can plan, carry out, evaluate, and celebrate meaningful work throughout the year.

Each Tennessee College/Postsecondary Resource Center below provides activity ideas, SMART goal examples, SkillsUSA Framework connections, implementation guidance, student leadership opportunities, reflection questions, and tools to help chapters move from ideas to action.

Advisor Tip: A strong Program of Work is not six unrelated activities. Encourage student committees to build an annual plan in which leadership, financial management, advocacy, partnerships, service, and workplace experiences reinforce one another and contribute to measurable student growth.
