Daphne Brown serves as the State Director for SkillsUSA Tennessee Postsecondary, leading statewide initiatives focused on workforce development, student leadership, and career readiness. With more than 28 years of experience in higher education, primarily in career and technical education, they are committed to creating opportunities that help students develop the technical, leadership, and employability skills needed for success.

Working closely with colleges, universities, TCATs, industry partners, advisors, and students across Tennessee, Daphne oversees statewide conferences, leadership development programs, industry engagement initiatives, and student success efforts that impact thousands of students each year. Among these efforts is the State Leadership and Skills Conference, Tennessee's premier career and technical education event, which serves more than 3,000 attendees and engages over 550 business and industry volunteers annually.

Under Daphne's leadership, the Tennessee Postsecondary division has earned the SkillsUSA Gold Standard of Excellence and grown to become the largest postsecondary SkillsUSA division in the nation, serving more than 15,500 members. The division has also earned national recognition for student achievement and competitive success at the National Leadership and Skills Conference.

Daphne's leadership philosophy is rooted in service, integrity, continuous improvement, and student impact. Every initiative, partnership, and program is designed with one goal in mind: creating opportunities where students, educators, and industry partners can thrive.
