One act of kindness can start something much bigger. The Ripple Effect challenges SkillsUSA Tennessee College/Postsecondary members to make an intentional positive impact, pass it forward, and see just how far that ripple can travel.
About the Ripple Effect
One Small Action Can Travel Farther Than You Think
The Ripple Effect is a SkillsUSA Tennessee College/Postsecondary initiative designed to demonstrate how one act of kindness, encouragement, service, or leadership can continue moving from person to person.
Each Ripple Effect card begins with one individual. That person completes an intentional act, passes the card to someone else, and challenges that person to continue the ripple.
As cards move through our schools, communities, workplaces, and beyond, participants can follow their journeys and see the collective impact created by individual choices.

Every Ripple Effect card carries the same challenge: make a positive impact and keep the ripple moving.
Do Something Kind
Make an intentional choice to encourage, help, serve, recognize, or support someone.
Scan & Share
Scan the QR code on the card and tell us what happened.
Pass It On
Give the card to someone else and invite them to create the next ripple.
Watch It Grow
Follow the card's journey as one action continues moving from person to person.

Every Ripple Effect card has its own identity and journey. The front carries the challenge to Pay It Forward. Level Up. The back provides the instructions, QR code, and unique card number that allow the ripple to be followed as it moves from person to person.

Leadership Is Also How We Treat People
Leadership is not limited to titles, meetings, competitions, or positions. It is demonstrated through the choices we make, the way we treat others, and the impact we choose to have on the people around us.
The Ripple Effect challenges SkillsUSA Tennessee College/Postsecondary members to Level Up Kindness through intentional actions that strengthen our schools, workplaces, communities, and organization.
Beyond One Event
A Ripple That Keeps Moving
The Ripple Effect is incorporated into SkillsUSA Tennessee College/Postsecondary leadership experiences, including the Washington Leadership Training Institute and the Tennessee Leadership Training Institute.
But the ripple does not stop when the conference ends. Cards are designed to leave the event and move into schools, workplaces, families, and communities.
Every card creates another opportunity for someone to choose kindness, service, encouragement, and leadership.
